This Clean Monday, join us on a 4-day trip to historic Messolonghi – a city considered “sacred”, synonymous with the notion of freedom and the arts, which has been identified more than any other with the Revolution of 1821. During these four days, we will also get to discover the lake Trichonida, the largest lake and one of the most important wetlands in Greece!

07:40 We meet at the parking lot next to Thessaloniki’s Concert Hall.

Saturday, February 21
13:00 Arrival in Agrinio, check-in at the hotel
Lunch and leisurely strolls in the city of Agrinio.
Sunday, February 22
07:30-09:00 Breakfast.
09:30 Departure for Messolonghi.
We begin with a tour of the best-preserved shipyard of the ancient world, the “Oiniades.”
We continue with a visit to ancient Plevrona with its impressive fortification wall and unique view of the lagoon and salt flats of Messolonghi, ending up at the Garden of Heroes, an impressive collection of sculptures honoring those who fought and sacrificed themselves during the Greek Revolution.
After lunch with local fish delicacies, we will visit the newly established Salt Museum and walk along the coast of Tourlida at sunset.
Monday, February 23
07:30-09:00 Breakfast.
09:30 Departure for Lake Trichonida.
Visit to the archaeological museum of Thermi.
Hike to the twin waterfalls of Mokistianos.
Lunch at a tavern on the shore of the lake.
Tuesday, February 24
07:30-09:00 Breakfast.
09:30 Departure for Xiromero. Leisurely walk in the nearby mountain with its ancient oak forest – trees aged 300 to 800 years.
Lunch in the area and return to Thessaloniki.

Itinerary
The final itinerary may be subject to slight changes depending on weather (and other local) conditions. In any case, it will include all the places/points of interest mentioned above.
Reservations-Cancellations
To reserve your spot, a deposit of €100 is required, with the balance payable in two installments: 20/11 & 19/12.
Cancellation with a refund (80% of the participation fee) is only possible after sending a relevant e-mail up to 30 days before the trip. In all other cases, no refund will be given, nor will the amount be offset against another trip.
