Join us on this 3-day trip to one of the most beautiful lakes in Greece, the lake of Kastoria, designated a “Monument of Natural Beauty,” but also to the unique Prespa Lakes, which, with their rich and rare flora and fauna, constitute an ecosystem of global importance.

08:00 Departure for Kastoria.

Trip Schedule

Sunday 4 January

11:00 Arrival in Kastoria.

11:15 Start of the hike. At the famous Psalida, the hill above the city of Kastoria, we will climb to enjoy the unique view of the city and the lake as if we were floating above them!

Details of the hike for Psalida:

Total distance: 4.4 km
Elevation: 353 m (ascent, especially steep at some points)
Duration: 2.5 hours (with stops)
Required equipment: hiking boots and trekking poles

Those who do not wish to join the hike can alternatively enjoy a stroll around the lake.

13:30 Departure for Prespes. Halfway there, we will visit the beautiful Dendrochori Bridge walking alongside the Ladopotamos River, as well as the picturesque village Kranionas – one of the most unique villages in Korestia thanks to its mudbrick architecture.

Distance: 1.8 km
Elevation: minimal
Duration: 40 minutes

Late in the afternoon, we will arrive at the village of Laimos, where will be our accommodation.

Monday 5 January

08:00-09:00 Breakfast.

09:30 Departure for Agios Germanos. Visit to the restored watermill and departure for the village of Psarades.

Strolls around the village and coffee break next to Megali Prespa.

Hike to Cape Roti and the hermitage of the Transfiguration of the Savior.

Distance: 3.2 km
Elevation: low
Duration: 1.5 – 2 hours (with stops)
Required equipment: hiking boots and trekking poles

Lunch in Psarades and return to the hotel.

Tuesday 6 January

08:00-09:00 Breakfast.

09:30 Departure for the islet of Agios Achilleios.

Crossing the floating bridge, we will find ourselves on this unique islet of Mikri Prespa, with a rich history. We will visit the famous Basilica of Agios Achilleios (983-986 AD), and walk around the island to enjoy the unique landscape.

Lunch at a restaurant on the island.

14:30 Departure for Thessaloniki with a coffee break in Kastoria.

Reservations-Cancellations

Reservations are made by completing the participation form, and are secured by paying a deposit of 80€. The remaining amount is payable in two installments: November 20 and December 15.

Cancellation with a refund (80% of the participation fee) is only possible after sending a relevant e-mail up to 30 days before the trip. In any other case, no refund will be made, nor will the amount be offset against another trip.
